The Bird’s Nest offers suite-type accommodation to sleep 2, with addition of several extra amenities which will all add to providing a relaxing and memorable stay.
In addition to a multi-fuel wood burning fire, a full bathroom, goose down duvets and sumptuous linens, there are 2 televisions with freeview , and lastly … the four velux windows situated above the bed (with remote opening and closing) offer beautiful night views of Galloway’s famous Dark Skies – for those lucky enough to enjoy clear skies.
Ample parking, and of course just moments from the wonderful beach at Carrick.
Available as additional accommodation to the main house (Owl Cote) or it can be booked separately.
The Bird’s Nest is available all year and it is fully managed. Minimum rental is three nights and we regretfully do not allow children under the age of 12.
The Birds Nest has a new small kitchenette which has the following appliances:-
Touch panel hob
Fridge Freezer
Microwave with grill
Kettle
Toaster
2 ring electric hob
All necessary crockery, cutlery and pans.
There is an additional 2 ring hotplate for outdoor cooking.
Completed June 2015 is a wonderful raised deck for sole use of Birds Nest guests to soak up the sunsets and Sauvignon! Beautiful views of the entire bay.
One small dog by prior arrangement is allowed, for a small charge.

Carrick beach is on the doorstep, while there are many other lovely, secluded beaches nearby including Mossyard and Sandgreen. |

Riding at nearby Kirkclaugh Equestrian and Livery and Barstobrick Visitor Centre. |

Cally Gardens near Gatehouse is a must for plant lovers in any season, a wonderful treasure trove of exotic and rare plants collected over the past 25 years by Michael Wickenden. The National Trust gardens at Broughton House and Threave are also well worth visiting. |

Young families will love Cream O' Galloway Visitor Centre, with its indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds, flying fox, bike tracks and karting and of course the delicious ice cream. Also worth visiting are Cardoness Castle, the Gem Rock Museum and Mill on the Fleet. |

The Murray Arms Hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet provides decent locally sourced food. |
