The Shire ( sleeps 4 )
- Two double bedrooms
- Hand-made breakfast bar and an open plan kitchen looking onto fireplace
- 2 double bedrooms
- The downstairs bedroom en-suite has an unusual character feature in its roll top bath with claw feet.
- Staircase leads to a second double bedroom with a balcony
- The remote control Velux windows
The Hayloft ( sleeps 4 )
- A double and a Twin bedroom
- Wood bridge between the 2 upstairs bedrooms
- Open plan kitchen with a one-of-a-kind table made from a burr elm tree trunk
- Lounge with large patio doors along with the Velux windows
- The bedrooms have beautiful views over the quiet countryside to the south and west.
The Ruin ( sleeps 4 )
- A double and a Twin bedroom
- Slate floor entrance which leads into kitchen and dining area with patio doors and a view into the garden
- Stone archway leads into separate lounge with open fire
- The bedrooms are located on either side of the lounge, with en-suites offering the choice of bath or shower.
The Byre ( sleeps 2 )
- One double bedroom
- Accessed through a handmade stable door
- "Children's door" which opens out into a BBQ area

Biggar Gas Works is an old factory, now museum. In 1973, when natural gas from the North Sea came to Biggar, the works closed down. However, unlike other gasworks it was not demolished. Instead, it has been preserved for future generations by Historic Buildings and Monuments and the National Museums of Scotland. Craignethan is a fascinating ruin of a castle, built in 1532 on a rise with two sides falling steeply to the River Nethan and on the third to the Craignethan Burn. |
