Eagle's Crag - sleeps 8
This stone built cottage is the newest building on the Reserve and comprises two elegant double rooms with en-suite wet-room bathrooms on the ground floor and four single beds with private bathroom upstairs. The large living area features high-ceilings and exposed beams with beautiful deer antler chandeliers.
The cottage features a fully equipped, beautifully hand-made Scottish oak kitchen, a 50” flat screen TV, DVD player and iPod dock. There is Wi Fi throughout.
The extraordinary location of Eagle’s Crag means that it is very remote yet easily accessible. Looking down over the Alladale river, Eagle’s Crag features panoramic windows on each side of the living area providing incredible views of Glen Alladale and the ancient Caledon forest (where some of the trees are up to 400 years old).
Scottish sandstone floors have under floor heating for winter, yet remain beautifully cool in the hot summers. All walls are insulated with sheep's wool. The wet-room bathrooms are supplied by Fired Earth and the full interior design is by Jill Evans (ex Mulberry director).
Ghillie’s Rest - sleeps 4
Newly-built Formerly a traditional Highland Bothy was upgraded and extended to offer one blissful double room and a comfortable twin room. Set in Glen Alladale facing the Alladale River, the cottage is a beautiful building with incredible views.
The living area features high ceilings with a beautiful deer antler chandelier and wood-burning stove. The locally sourced wooden flooring has under floor heating, there are attractive stone features and fabrics and furniture by local company, Anta.
Ghillie’s Rest is fitted with Sonos technology, flat screen TVs and free Wi-Fi throughout. With a fully-equipped hand-made Scottish oak kitchen and Miele appliances, Ghillie’s Rest is finished to the highest standard.
The wonderful dining area overlooks the river and mountains, providing the perfect backdrop for an evening meal after a day of outdoor activities on the 23,000 acre reserve. Full interior design is by Jill Evans (ex Mulberry director).
Pivotal to Alladale’s vision is to build sustainably. All materials, either reclaimed or new have been sourced on the reserve or in Scotland. All electricity within the lodge is generated by Alladale’s hydro-electric scheme.
Dogs: in the two cottages, dogs are welcome while at the main lodge. If you wish to bring dogs, please discuss at the time of booking.
