Invigorate your senses with the RiverBath...since the beginning of time the rhythm of water has enchanted us - the hypnotic cascade of a waterfall, a tranquil babbling brook, the exhilarating rush of rapids. The Kohler RiverBath has 4 sensations: Whirlpool 8 Flexjets create a swirling massage Rapids 2 Riverjets create a rolling surface current Whitewater 4 Riverjets provide a raging rush of water Waterfall Revitalising neck and shoulder massage . The added Chromatherapy feature complements the existing whirlpool functions for a unique bathing experience. A captivating sequence of colours washes over the bather to create a soothing or stimulating sensation. Reds, oranges and yellows to help boost circulation and stimulate the senses; whereas blues, greens and pinks will relax and restore the mind and body. Infra-red sauna Our infra-red sauna provides an extremely effective heat treatment. The infra-red sauna differs from traditional saunas by operating at a lower, more comfortable temperature. The infra red rays heat the body and not the air and can penetrate the upper layers of the skin to eliminate toxins under the skin, making it a most effective treatment for cellulite and general detox. An average person can expect to burn the equivalent of 800 calories in a single session. Infra-red saunas promote deep cleansing and flush many toxins from the body. Regular use will improve skin and general health as toxins are eliminated from the body. |
The island is edged by beautiful, unspoit beaches - most with Caribbean-like soft white sand. Especially recommended are nearby Dalmore and Dalbeag, Traigh na Berie (Reef Beach), Valtos and Uig Sands, Bostadh (Bosta) and Traigh Mhor (Big Beach). The beaches of Harris such as Luskentyre, Scarista and Traigh Mheilein are also within easy reach. |

On Lewis there are plenty of places of historic interest well worth a visit: Callanish standing stones; the Blackhouse at Gearrannan where there is a museum and cafe as well as well renovated blackhouses; 2000-year-old Carloway Broch; Shawbost Norse Mill and Kiln; Lews Castle (there is no entry to the castle). The famous Uig Viking Chess Men are no longer on the island but there is a display in Stornoway Museum with plans to bring the pieces back permanently to the island of their discovery.
For excellent coffee or lunch try the nearby Callanish Cafe by the famous stone circle. For great pub food including locally sourced fish, shellfish, lamb and beef, visit the Loch Erisort Inn. Borve Country House Hotel and Digby Chick also offer a la carte menus and specialise in a variety of local, fresh seafood dishes such as shellfish, prawns, scallops, lobster and whitefish as well as offering a range of vegetarian and meat dishes such as local Lewis lamb. Don't miss the famous Stornoway Black Pudding or the furthest west Distillery at Abhainn Dearg. |

The Outer Hebrides are remarkably rich in all forms of wildlife, particularly in late spring and early summer when the machair is at its peak. Among the species to see are the otter, red deer and common grey seals. Red deer roam free on the moorland surrounding the lodges. Golden and Sea Eagles can often be spotted soaring above the lodges.
Take boat a trip and explore the unsurpassed beauty of the Lewis coastline. Highlights include sightings of seals, whales and dolphins. Also explore the many small islands dotted around the coast. Don't miss the natural arch and lagoon sheltered on the island of Pabbay. Trips to St Kilda are well worth the effort. Hebrides Fish'n'Trips, Islands of Adventure and Seatrek all offer a great choice of boat trips.
